In the past year several artists have remade Philly Lutaaya songs. There is a lot of outrage by Philly Lutaaya fans about the project. Overall fans are not satifisied by the quality of the remade songs. Diana by Juliana Kanyomozi appears to be very popular among Ugandans living abroad.
There is a lot of confusion on why the songs were remade. Lutaaya fans think that this is a lack of innovation by remaking songs. However, it is not uncommon in music to have a song revised by numerous artists.
I support the Lutaaya Project and feel that the project was a great way to bring Lutaaya back into the homes of Ugandans.
